George Brauchler is the elected District Attorney for Colorado’s newly created 23rd Judicial District, encompassing Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln counties. He speaks Friday evening at the Back the Blue Bash on June 26, 2026.

ABOUT DA GEORGE BRAUCHLER

Sworn in on January 14, 2025, George Brauchler leads the first new judicial district created in Colorado in more than 60 years, covering Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln counties — including the home of the RMV Freedom Festival itself, Castle Rock.

Brauchler previously served two terms as the elected District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District (2013–2021), Colorado’s most populous district at the time with more than 1.1 million residents. There he prosecuted some of the state’s most consequential cases, including those arising from the Columbine and Aurora theater mass shootings and the STEM School Highlands Ranch attack.

Over his 30-year legal career Brauchler has served as a Deputy District Attorney, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, military prosecutor and defense counsel, and Chief of Military Justice for Fort Carson’s 4th Infantry Division. He earned his Bachelor’s in Economics and Political Science and his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

At the RMV Freedom Festival, DA Brauchler joins the Back the Blue Bash on Friday night to celebrate the law enforcement community he prosecutes alongside every day.
